Nutrition and Metabolism

The diet of an organism is what it consumes in its meal, which is basically determined by the availability and palatability of foods. For humans, a healthy diet includes preparation of food and other methods of packing which will preserve the nutrients from oxidation, heat or leaching, and this will reduces the risk of foodborne diseases. Metabolism is a key factor which will help to attain the conversion of food into energy to maintain cellular processes; building blocks for nucleic acids  lipids, proteins, and some carbohydrates; and the elimination of nitrogenous wastes for the complete availability of nutrients to the body.
